*Resident Academic Full Time Post in Dance Studies *
Department of Dance Studies – School of Performing Arts (University of
Malta)

Applications are invited for a Resident Academic Full Time Post in Dance in
the Department of Dance Studies within the School of Performing Arts,
University of Malta.

The appointee will be required to contribute to the teaching, research,
administrative, outreach and other activities of the Department of Dance
Studies at the School of Performing Arts.

Candidates must be in possession of a Ph.D. or equivalent research based
doctorate in a relevant area of dance specialisation and have teaching
experience at tertiary level. The selected candidate is expected to be
fully competent to teach and undertake supervisory duties at both
undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

The applicant must have interdisciplinary expertise in Dance Studies
grounded in at least two of the following areas: Dance and Technology,
Dance and Sciences, Global Dance Studies, Practice Research, Performance
Theories. The candidate will be expected to teach and carry out research in
these areas as well as in related areas as required and in discussion with
the Head of Department. The appointee will also be expected to make a
substantial contribution to the development of the School of Performing
Arts.
