The Role
Kingston School of Art are seeking to appoint a Production Technician to join our Faculty technical team. This post will provide a high quality multi skilled approach to the technical services at Kingston University, supporting teaching, research, and enterprise within the Department of Performing Arts.

You will be responsible for delivering fit-for-purpose technical support across the University’s drama, dance and music facilities. This will include the day-to-day management, operation and maintenance of the facilities and equipment, and supporting students in the use of industry related equipment and software packages. You will have ability to provide practical demonstrations for a range of skill levels, giving advice and support on all aspects of technical theatre and audio engineering, on a one-to-one basis and through the delivery of group demonstrations.

The Person

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has considerable experience in the fields of technical theatre and live and recorded sound. You will assist in all aspects of audio engineering, lighting, sound, video, stage management, scenic construction and front of house operations for university and visiting productions both within the University and at external venues. This will include supporting the new cutting-edge Studio Theatre in the University’s flagship building the Town House.
You will have a positive and proactive approach to your work and form productive working relationships with technical staff in the Performing Arts department, the faculty and more widely across the University.

Further information

This is a part time (18.5 hours per week) permanent position with a starting salary of £14,572.00 per annum (50% pro rata to £29,144 per annum).
