Dear colleague

Consultation on the content and design of an Early Life Cohort Feasibility study for the UK<https://cls.ucl.ac.uk/events/consultation-early-life-cohort-feasibility-study/>

The UCL Centre for Longitudinal Studies is leading a multi-partner team to test the feasibility of a new birth cohort study for the UK and is holding an online consultation event for data users on 10 June 2021.

The Early Life Cohort Feasibility Study<https://cls.ucl.ac.uk/cls-studies/early-life-cohort-feasibility-study/> (ELC-FS) is a two-year project, funded by the ESRC, that will paint a nationally representative picture of the circumstances and lives of a new cohort of babies born at a critical time in the UK's history. The study will recruit several thousand new babies, capturing information about their economic and social environments, and their health, wellbeing and development during their first year of life.
The feasibility study will be evaluated in early 2023, and if judged to be successful, commissioning of a new, larger main study is anticipated in 2023.

Potential future data users, from the academic, government and third sectors, are invited to register<https://cls.ucl.ac.uk/events/consultation-early-life-cohort-feasibility-study/> for an online consultation event on 10 June. This will be an opportunity to input into the feasibility study's scientific purpose and design. For more details, including the event programme, please visit the CLS website<https://cls.ucl.ac.uk/events/consultation-early-life-cohort-feasibility-study/>.
