Federation Grant schemes

Small Grant Programme

Since 2010 the Federation has received funding from the Welsh Government to
offer grants to its members. The funding enables the Federation to advertise
two grant rounds per year. The maximum grant amount is £10,000 (spring) and
£3,000 (autumn). Since 2010 museums have benefitted to the value of over
£375,000.

Three independent Federation committee members assess the applications (with
the priority given to supporting smaller projects) against the criteria of
their relevance to the applicant’s forward plans, future aspirations and
meeting wider targets and programmes, particularly A Museums Strategy for
Wales. Successful projects include conservation and specialist equipment,
outreach and lifelong learning projects, development of partnership working
and professional advice. More recently the Federation has launched a
separate Training and Conference Grant programme.

To apply for a grant, applicants must be a member of the Federation and be
an accredited (or working towards accreditation) museum.

Next round of grants is now available – closing date 30th April 2021.

The grant scheme is funded by Welsh Government and the Federation.

Cynlluniau Grantiau’r Ffederasiwn

Rhaglen Grantiau Bach

Ers 2010 mae’r Ffederasiwn wedi cael arian gan Lywodraeth Cymru er mwyn
cynnig grantiau i’r aelodau. Gyda’r cyllid hwn mae’r Ffederasiwn yn gallu
hysbysebu dau gylch grantiau y flwyddyn. Swm y grant uchaf yw £10,000
(gwanwyn) a £3,000 (hydref). Yn ystod 2010, mae amgueddfyedd wedi elwa ar
gyfanswm dros £375,000.

Bydd tri aelod annibynnol o bwyllgor y Ffederasiwn yn pwyso a mesur y
ceisiadau (rhoddir y flaenoriaeth i gefnogi prosiectau llai) gan
ddefnyddio’r meini prawf mewn perthynas â pha mor berthnasol ydynt i
flaengynlluniau a gobeithion y ceisydd at y dyfodol, ynghyd â sut y bodlonir
targedau a rhaglenni ehangach, yn enwedig felly Strategaeth Amgueddfeydd
dros Gymru. Mae’r prosiectau llwyddiannus yn cynnwys offer cadwraeth ac
arbenigol, prosiectau allgymorth a dysgu gydol oes, datblygu trefniadau
gweithio mewn partneriaeth a chyngor proffesiynol. Yn fwy diweddar mae’r
Ffederasiwn wedi lansio rhaglen ar wahân ar gyfer Grantiau Hyfforddiant a
Chynadledda.

Er mwyn gwneud cais am grant mae’r ceiswyr yn gorfod bod yn aelod o’r
Ffederasiwn a rhaid iddynt fod yn amgueddfa achrededig (neu’n amgueddfa sydd
wrthi’n ceisio cael ei hachredu).
