In response to the pressures we have all been experiencing during the pandemic, The National Archives is pleased to offer a specialised workshop to members of the archive sector.

Designed and delivered by Steve Wood, a specialist Wellbeing and Resilience Coach, this 90-minute webinar is designed to help you to manage and reduce anxiety and to support your team members and colleagues to do the same.

About this event
The workshop will be delivered via Zoom on Wednesday 31st March, 2.00pm – 3.30pm.  This event is funded by The National Archives to support people working and volunteering within the archives sector.

Designed for archive leaders, this webinar will:

• enhance your understanding of what anxiety really is (from a neuroscience perspective) and how normal it is

• provide practical tips for dealing well with different levels of anxiety, along with worry and stress

The webinar will cover the following topics:

The challenge

• What do we mean by ‘anxiety’ (including the anxiety spectrum)?

• The triune brain

• The role of cortisol and adrenaline

• The ‘fight, flight or freeze’ response

• The ‘rolled up newspaper under the door’ phenomenon

The solutions

• What happens to cortisol?

• The ‘exposure and response’ cycle

• The role of exercise and diet

• Mindfulness – what makes it significant

• Diversionary activities and thoughts
