I would like to draw your attention to training and funding opportunities for early career researchers. Please forward this to your PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, who may not be part of this email list but are currently engaged in STFC funded research.

1. Personal Development Call (deadline extended)

Current PhD students and researchers who have completed their PhD within the last 5 years are eligible to apply to study for a masters level modules in medical physics and bioinformatics. These aim to broaden expertise outside the applicants current field of study and therefore the applicant does not have to be working in a medical physics application. These are running remotely this year and include:

Nuclear Medicine (Feb 16th to 20th 2021)
Non-ionising Imaging (March 1st to 5th 2021)
Software Techniques and Modelling (March 8th to 12th 2021)
Diagnostic Radiology (April 13th to 17th 2021).

2. Travel Award (including participation fees for remote conferences)

Applications are open for funding to support travel/participation of early career researchers in attending conferences, workshops or other relevant training within the remit of cancer diagnosis. These awards including funding of up to £2000 at 100% for PhD students and 50% for researchers who have completed their PhD within the past 5 years. The application form can be found here (also attached) and should be submitted 8 weeks before the event takes place.
