Hi,
Well said Shakila. I haven’t read yet Maisha, but it is on list for today. I am still feeling raw from our orgs last meeting on antiracism and decolonising curriculum action group. Every story is
like PTSD, opening a life time of feelings and flashbacks around racism in education and career that I have kept a lid, & cannot help coming out. Yep know this isn’t about me but future and try and keep that my driving motivation to continue and lead to disrupt
the recycling of curricula contributing to the awarding gap and not belonging experiences of students of colour.
Regards, Mish.

Dear Maisha,
I read this report and very much touched by the verbatim quotes from Asians. It traces my flashback and experiences. It is really a great initiative and sheds light
not to generalise people experiences under "BAME" where cultural difference persist among them. It would be good to segregate experience and curate evidence for reform. Happy to support.
Kind regards,

Subject: Happy Race Equality Week + Launch of New Report Looking into the 'Asian' Student Experience!
Dear colleagues,
I hope you are well and are having a great week so far! Happy Race Equality Week too
😊
I am writing to share a new report that I have written looking into the University of Winchester’s ‘Asian’ student experience in order to better understand our BAME degree-awarding gap.
The report highlights the importance of disaggregating the term ‘BAME’ which often assumes a homogenous set of experiences for our students, and which has not previously paid close enough attention to those students from Asian backgrounds.
Please see below for a press release where you can find a link to the full report! I welcome any feedback you may have too!
Wishing you all the best and kind regards,
Maisha Islam AFHEA
