Greetings All- Last week I was informed that I had been accepted to the U.S. Fulbright Specialist Program <https://fulbrightspecialist.worldlearning.org/>, which allows academics and established professionals to engage in two- to six-week, project-based exchanges at host institutions across the globe. I am writing to gauge interest in partnering with me on projects relevant to GNHRE. Some of the potential projects I described in my application include (but are not limited to): - convening a meeting or webinar in which legal scholars and activists discuss the trials and tribulations of implementing environmental rights; - delivering a range of talks on topics such as environmental rights, environmental justice, the Sustainable Development Goals, animal rights, the rights of nature, and rights of AI/robots; - collaborating to develop novel approaches to promoting the legal protection of vulnerable groups; - designing simulation-based activities that can be deployed in courses or seminars on environmental law and human rights; - mentoring students through reading groups that discuss cutting edge research on environmental law and workshops papers in progress; - establishing an exchange agreement that would bring students from your institution to mine (UNF) and vice versa. For information on the role of host institutions in this program, please visit: https://fulbrightspecialist.worldlearning.org/eligibility-host-institutions. Importantly, the program requires that "all projects should have an education or training focus" and "host institutions should be prepared to provide the Specialist with lodging, meals, and in-country transportation, either through monetary or in-kind contributions, throughout their full stay in country." While my application was written with a Latin American context in mind, I don't think there is anything prohibiting me from partnering with a host institution outside that region. If you are interested, send me an email and let's talk about how we might work together! Best, Josh -- Joshua C.
