Proposing for EVA London 2021
Main conference
Proposals may be for a paper, a paper with demo, a demonstration, a workshop or a panel discussion, and should be related to at least one of the conference themes.
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
Proposal must be submitted via the EasyChair website at: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=evalondon2021
Please note the following:
Further details of post-proposal deadlines are available at: http://www.eva-london.org/eva-london-2021/key-dates/
Papers
Papers will be presented in 20-minute slots (either in plenary sessions or in parallel, with 15 minutes allocated for the talk itself) and be associated with a publication of a 3-8 page “long” paper in the proceedings. At least one author must register for the date of presentation of the paper. Paper presentations will be physical in London or online depending on what is possible in due course.
Demonstrations
Assuming we can hold a physical conference, demonstrations will be formally timetabled normally in parallel with other sessions, in 20-minute slots or in combination with a paper in a 30-minute slot. Proposals are invited and should be submitted in outline as for papers, above. However, we will not expect detailed demo requirements until nearer the conference, to allow time for development. For publication, you will be able to provide a 1-2 page “short” paper describing the demo if not associated with a long paper. At least one author must register for the date of presentation of the demonstration.
Panel sessions and workshops
Proposals for panel sessions or workshops are welcome. Please note the following:
Conference themes
EVA London’s Conference themes include the use of new and emerging technologies in the following areas (to be broadly interpreted), and a focus on “AI and the Arts: Artificial Imagination”:
Research Workshop
Held on one or two days of the EVA London conference depending on the number of accepted submissions, the Research Workshop is an opportunity for postgraduate students and artists to present their work and share research work in progress in an informal and supportive setting. The EVA London 2021 Research Workshop is planned for the afternoon of Monday 5th July 2021 and perhaps extended to the afternoon of Tuesday 6th July 2021 as well.
A Research Workshop proposal is for a 15-minute presentation on your ideas, plans or initial results (including a few minutes for questions and discussion). Accepted Research Workshop presenters can attend free on the day of the presentation. A written submission of up to two pages may be incorporated in a joint paper edited by the Research Workshop organiser. A separate paper may be possible by arrangement with and at the discretion of the organiser, at an additional charge.
The deadline for proposals is 10th March 2021 and should be sent by email to the Research Workshop organiser, Graham Diprose ([log in to unmask]).
Note that some proposals for the main conference may be accepted for the Research Workshop instead.
