Hi Beccy
If there is any government policy or discussion in parliament then there is usually a House of Commons briefing paper. These are excellent summaries of the current position and
any known initiatives. This is possibly as good as you are going to get.
Searching all
House of Commons Library papers for loneliness, the hits from this year include:
this briefing also looks at research into the causes and impact of loneliness and possible interventions.
This reading list provides links to various publications considering the causes and impact of loneliness, as well as possible interventions to
deal with the issue in society. (Section 17 is Loneliness interventions)
This briefing examines recent Government policy to tackle loneliness in care homes in the UK.
The first 2 probably make enough of a briefing for anyone to get a general overview without drowning.
I would probably add in links to the
Govt loneliness collection (for officialdom, links to funding, and the first year report), probably pull out links to the
Connected Society and
APPG on Loneliness (see Red Cross) and finish with the
EPPI/NIHR Rapid Review you identified. That gives you the story to June 2020, where the money is going and research going forward. Loads to read but it will look like a very succinct list from you
😊
Good luck!

Hi
I am drowning with this search, Google feels like a rabbit hole for this one.
I just wondered if anyone was aware of any reports or websites etc. that have collated initiatives that have taken place during the pandemic, to help reduce loneliness and isolation. From online zoom sessions to pen pals schemes.
Below you can see what I have found so far, but not quite what I was looking for really.
Was hoping for a paragraph describing each initiative with perhaps a link to the charity, organisation or community groups page.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated
Thanks
Beccy
