Hi Cheri,

We have a birth choices guideline at Chelsea and Westminster Healthcare NHS Fdn Trust that we use to support women who are requesting care outside of guidance. It’s a local guideline but I am happy to share if it would be useful?

Kind Regards

Subject: Birth outside criteria/against medical advice/outside the system

Hello all,

I am currently completing my MSc Dissertation looking at women's and midwives' influences and experiences of birth 'outside the system' (defined as women who may be 'high risk' who choose to birth at home/alongside MLU/freestanding MLU against medical advice or women who choose to freebirth). I've found a wealth of amazing qualitative research, but would like to source some national guidelines if anyone is aware of any?

I would welcome any further information anyone can give me!

Best wishes,
