Dear All, This is about surnames, not place-names, but it may be of interest: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2020/may/15/oxford-surnames-dictionary-goes-free-for-family-bonding-in-lockdown I cannot recommend the book unreservedly because the entry for my own surname is inaccurate and inadequate! But it's easy to criticise: actually, I admire the authors for attempting such a task.
