Dear Simuliid Community,

First of all, I hope you and your families are healthy and doing well during this terrible pandemic.

I had sent to you an e-mail, informing that the Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee for the International Simuliidae Symposium in Morocco were closely monitoring the covid-19 situation. I also promised that a decision would be made in early April whether or not to proceed with the meeting being the registration deadline extended to 15 April.

But unfortunately, as you all know and see, the situation is getting much worse around the world.

Here in Morocco, the confinement is each time extended by a month! It is the same in other countries, added to travel restrictions and all other consequences... So, based on current circumstances, we think it will be necessary to cancel the Symposium and postpone it to a later date which be announced after the pandemic.

The most important at the moment is that we keep in good health through this pandemic.

I am very sorry for our colleagues who have already made flight and accommodation reservations.

All best wishes to you to stay safe and healthy,

Boutaïna
