Dear friends and colleagues:
We hope this email finds you coping well with the challenges of the pandemic which has undoubtedly affected each of us deeply in different ways. The SSPC Executive Committee and Conference Planning Committee continue to plan towards an annual meeting in October,
when hopefully the pandemic will be under control enough that we can hold an in-person conference. Of course, we will continue to assess feasibility of an in-person conference as we get closer to that time.
In the meantime, we do want to continue to support you in your work related to culture and mental health. Our Education Committee has planned a series of 3 webinars on the original dates of the conference, April
16, 17, and 18 at 1 - 2:30 ET to discuss cultural issues and the psychosocial impact of COVID-19 from from diverse perspectives. You can register for any or all of the 3 seminars. By using the Zoom platform
and breakout rooms, we also want to engage you in dialogue so that we can all share with each other how the pandemic has impacted us and our work. We hope that this will be an opportunity for collective reflection, growth, and healing.
Please register for the webinars on the SSPC website: https://psychiatryandculture.org/
April 16 1 pm EST: Round Table Discussion on COVID-19: Bonnie Kaiser, Vincenzo Di Nicola, Alan Teo, and Francis Lu
April 17 1pm EST: Covid19: Mitigating Risks for Contagion Stigma and Prejudice: James Griffith and Brandon Kohrt

Take care,
