…and the delays keep going… (extract from an email received today):

The Directive states that we must prioritise supply to public bodies supporting pillar 4 of the national testing strategy. Please contact us should you wish to receive any further details with regards to this.

Our manufacturer, XXXX, is currently ramping up production and we expect to see supply increasing yet further at the end of April and moving into May.

So not lab tests for us to carry out, no POCT tests, and we still look like donkeys in the national conversation.

No.

I wrote yesterday to the Medical Directors at Public Health England and NHS X asking how we should access that information.

(Because we need it for planning the information flows.)

Is there any up to date information on what is currently being done and what is still needed?  Particularly in respect of nationwide NHS Pathology.

Eg (Hypothetically)           – Yesterday the NHS processed X’000 tests

                                                                    -  We have capacity for XX’000

                                                                                - We desperately need reagents(?)

I am certainly in awe of the massive efforts taking place in our lab in this area and no doubt many others feel the same.
