Dear zooarchers,

I would like to know if there's any chance to estimate the skin/hides dimension from the (estimated!) withers height?
I'm aware that is quite uncertain and may be risky, but I would like to have a rough size rather than an exact data.

I already found online many sizes of horses hides, but the informations are quite unclear and the withers height of the living animal is unknown because it doesn't interest the one who wants to buy a carpet... I have length, width and sometimes weight for hides of "horse", "pony", "Shetland" and "zebra", sometimes with mention of the species.

Thanks for your help,
Ilona
