I am continuing to struggle a bit to understand why so much interest,effort and resources is going into measures in an attempt to curtail thespread of coronavirus in the UK, without so much of a whisper of anythingsimilar in relation to influenza. Per government figures, anddespite fairly widespread immunisation of vulnerable groups, it seemsthat the average number of influenza-related deaths in England (not eventhe whole of the UK) has been in excess of 20,000 per year in recentyears ...
