To follow up on this, to all sympathetic Kleist aficionad(o/a)s, I would like to highlight that the Schaubühne is streaming Peter Stein's famous 1972 Prinz Friedrich von Homburg staging this Sunday. This production marked a significant shift in the post-war reception of Kleist's play, away from Prussian military subordination to the suffering individual, that identified the prince with Kleist himself. It also features the late Bruno Ganz in the title role. Highly recommended!

I hope everybody is well in these extraordinary times.

Dear colleagues,

Several German theatres are putting performances online. Schaubühne
Berlin (who came up with the titel Zwangsvorstellungen), for example, is
releasing lots of archive material. There is a chance to donate money as
well!

Schaubühne, Berlin

Rimini Protokoll, Berlin

I am sure there are more online programmes available.

With best wishes, and thanks to Annja Neumann for the tip!
Silke
