Dear all,

I’d like to alert you to an upcoming performance of a piece that was commissioned by Newcastle City Council for Holocaust Memorial Day this year. It addresses racism and persecution, enacting stories based on testimonies, and it links historical perspectives with current threats to migrants, refugees, and others perceived as not belonging. The piece will be performed in the Sage Gateshead on Monday 22 June. For further info, please see below.

All best,

Beate

Hi Beate

Claire Webster Saaremets gave me your details as I work with her and the Skimstone team, providing marketing support, and I understand your research has been central in the creation of Peace Procession3: Standing Together.

Below is our e-flyer about the forthcoming performance at the Sage Gateshead. Would you be able to share this with your contacts? Any support you can provide in spreading the word via email, social media etc would be appreciated!

thanks
Emma

Peace Procession3: Standing Together
Sage Gateshead, Monday 22 June, 7.30pm

What will people risk to protect others in times of war and conflict?

Dina and Gahiji are newly engaged, sharing the happy news with friends and neighbours.

But quickly, everyone’s world changes; something is happening. People are being segregated, having to hide, run away, and escape from persecution.

So, can we bring you a happy ending?

Peace Procession3: Standing Together is an uplifting and powerful music-based performance by an international cast of actors and musicians.

It isn’t a made up story. It’s based on true stories – testimonies from children who survived the Holocaust and stories shared by people living in the UK today who have survived conflict and violence. And it isn’t about the past – it’s about things that are happening right now.

Join us as we celebrate people who help others to survive and ask, who will stand together to welcome this family of refugees into a new place?

Monday 22 June, 7.30pm: Sage Gateshead. £10/£4 concessions.
