Hi,

It goes without saying but in light of the COVID-19 guidance and as the Government announces self-isolation for people with chronic health conditions and disabilities for 12 weeks. It's vital that all of our online content can be inclusive and accessible to our audiences, and attract new users.

DCN can help and support colleagues with this through our partnership with EMBED, as we have colleagues who are digital inclusion specialists within the team.  We are currently talking about how we can utilize our skills in reflection of the current crisis to support organisations in developing accessible digital content.

Kirsty, that would be about right. York Archaeological Trust and their places.  One teacher I saw post about it somewhere said it was really excellent.

I think it was ‘Dig’ in York that I saw a Viking sat online speaking to a class virtually! It looked great. I have seen something similar at World Museum Liverpool too where curators were answering questions and speaking to a class in the USA. I think it was a session about Space but it was years ago so I could be wrong.

Kind Regards, Kirsty

Hi there,

Apparently Jorvik Viking Centre do a really great Skype workshop.  They might be work contacting?

Yours,

Hi everyone,

We’re thinking about how we might be able to support families educating from home if/when schools start to close.

We’re curious to know what options other museums are considering… particularly those that don’t currently offer online learning/ video conferencing etc. as we’d be starting this from scratch.

Thanks and take care!

Lucy
