Hi,

> Hi, relion3.1 tutorial says that bayesian polishing can only read local motion tracks from relion own implementation of motioncor2.

Correct.

> Yet usually polishing seems to work fine after original GPU-based implementation as well. Has this behaviour changed since the tutorial or is particle tracks estimation only "helped" by motioncor2 tracks and they do not matter much anyway for polishing?

Polish uses global (and local with RELION's own motion correction)
trajectories only for initialization.
As long as the box size is large enough to accommodate
residual shifts beyond initial values, quality of
initial motion correction and availability of local
trajectories do not really matter.
