IRiS is holding its sixth international interdisciplinary conference on 9-11 September 2020 at the University of Birmingham.  The title of the conference is 'Beyond 'deficits and dividends': Interdisciplinary and critical perspectives on migration and superdiversity'<https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/research/superdiversity-institute/events/2020-conference/paper-and-panel-submission.aspx>.  Keynote speakers are Professor Gracia Lui-Farrer<https://waseda.pure.elsevier.com/en/persons/gracia-liu-farrer>, Director of Institute of Asian Migrations at Waseda University, Japan and Professor Nasar Meer<http://www.sociology.ed.ac.uk/people/staff/nasar_meer>, Chair of Race, Identity and Citizenship at the University of Edinburgh.



Plenary speakers include:

  *   Professor Lyndsey Stonebridge<https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/staff/profiles/english/stonebridge-lyndsey.aspx>, Interdisciplinary Chair of Humanities and Human Rights and author of the award winning Placeless People: Writing, Rights and Refugees
  *   Professor Carlos Vargas Silva<https://www.compas.ox.ac.uk/people/carlos-vargas-silva/>, Director of the University of Oxford's Centre of Migration, Policy and Society (COMPAS<https://www.compas.ox.ac.uk/>)



We welcome academics from a range of disciplines including but not exclusively anthropology, sociology, social policy, cultural studies, geography, linguistics, history, psychology, economics, business, medicine, demography, politics, and development studies, policymakers, and practitioners to submit innovative paper, panel and workshop proposals<https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/research/superdiversity-institute/events/2020-conference/paper-and-panel-submission.aspx>.  The deadline for submissions, using our online system, is Wednesday 15 April 2020.
