Hi James Karin here from South Africa. I still keep my fingers in the archaeozoological and archaeological pie, like everywhere there is enough work but few positions. I am now a full time transcriptionist from home. It allows me enough freedom to still do analyses and work with students and organise workshops. The transition was not that big as my academic, science and research training comes in handy in my work. Yes, I had to go through training for about 6 months and learn the new skills needed. As the saying goes nothing learned is ever wasted. It is reapplying and repurposing the skills you already have. The old thinking outside the box type deal. For those of you who moved to other careers outside of archaeology (either temporarily or permanently), what did you end up doing for a living? How big of a transition was it? Did you have to go through a lot of extra training? ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the ZOOARCH list, click the following link: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=ZOOARCH <https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=ZOOARCH&A=1> &A=1 <http://www.avg.com/email-signature?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_cam paign=sig-email&utm_content=emailclient> Virus-free. <http://www.avg.com/email-signature?utm_medium=email&utm_source=link&utm_cam paign=sig-email&utm_content=emailclient> www.avg.com _____ To unsubscribe from the ZOOARCH list, click the following link: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=ZOOARCH <https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=ZOOARCH&A=1> &A=1 ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the ZOOARCH list, click the following link: https://www.jiscmail.ac.uk/cgi-bin/webadmin?SUBED1=ZOOARCH&A=1
