My go-to salutation isn’t even on the poll!
I usually go for ‘best wishes’, although from that list would have probably selected ‘kind regards’.
Best wishes,
Lee

Subject: Email salutations - What is your preferred ending to an email?
Dear colleagues
I have recently been talking to my students about writing emails in a professional context. They are going to be working on projects with external clients and after the initial face to face meeting will then liaise with them via email.
However in doing this, it got me thinking about whether the salutations I suggested were still relevant. Are there better ways to end an email? Does the way we tend to end emails differ to the way a student should end an email to a client
or potential employer/job application for example?
I decided to put out a quick poll on Twitter to seek the views of my connections. The poll was open for 7 days and received 612 responses and was enlightening in relation to the comments, as people had strong preferences with respect to
what they would or would not use.
I would like to invite you to contribute your thoughts on this subject. I intend to gather the responses and write up as a blog post, which I will share with you in due course.
Best regards (don’t judge me!)
Sue
