Call for Archive Volunteers 

Job Type: Voluntary - Expenses paid up to £20 per day

Location: The Old Town Hall, Haverstock Hill, NW3 4QP, London 

Akademi seeks volunteers for the Heritage Project that will archive 40 years of Akademi’s South Asian dance heritage.

Akademi’s mission is to inspire audiences and change lives by creating and nurturing excellence in classical, contemporary, popular and participatory South Asian dance. Our vision is that South Asian dance is thriving at the centre of British cultural life. Our programme has three main strands: Performance, Artist Development and Learning & Participation. The Role

·         Sorting, cataloguing and repackaging the Akademi archives to prepare them for transfer to the Victoria & Albert Museum in accordance with V&A requirements. 

·         You will receive training from a professional archivist and work alongside them and other volunteers.

·         You will commit to a minimum of 4 days of work over a 4-week period (there may be an opportunity to extend this over a longer duration).

Expenses will be paid up to £20 a day. The role is funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
