This event will bring together experienced researchers from LSE and El Colegio de Sonora<https://www.colson.edu.mx/inicio.aspx> to discuss the challenges and opportunities of using participatory research methods to investigate complex social problems with participants.
Based on their work in Latin American cities, such as Tijuana<http://www.lse.ac.uk/lacc/publications/Co-constructing-Human-Security-in-Mexico>, Medellin and Cartagena, Professor Jenny Pearce<http://www.lse.ac.uk/lacc/people/research-staff/jenny-pearce> (Research Professor, LACC), Dr Sonja Marzi<https://www.lse.ac.uk/Methodology/People/Academic-Staff/Sonja-Marzi/Sonja-Marzi> (LSE Fellow in Qualitative Methods, LSE Department of Methodology), Dr Nohora Constanza Niņo Vega<https://www.colson.edu.mx/SeccionInvestigacion/investigador.aspx?i=2203> (Researcher, Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences, El Colegio de Sonora) and Dr Alexandra Abello-Colak<http://www.lse.ac.uk/lacc/people/research-staff/alexandra-abello-colak> (Leverhulme Early Career Fellow, LACC) will share their learning on the role of academic research in understanding and addressing some of the most pressing problems for residents in the region.

The event will be in English and Spanish.
