 Deer Terrry,

A useful way nay be to look at the various universities which do the OH degree, & when you see the course elements, logically they should indicate what are the essential components of the job & so what needs knowing.

Try such as listed in this link: https://www.rgu.ac.uk/study/courses/1120-bsc-occupational-health

Practically in a day-to-day learning environment, I'd suggest health risk assessment, health surveillance including statutory, fitness (all OH is fitness really), case management, report-writing, H&S legislation, dealing with management & so on & forth. Useful also to send on a Technician course, so is competent & confident with doing clinical screenings & making fitness judgement, & also sitting in with clients consent on consultations.

Just my thoughts, I'm no expert!

Hope may help.

Good Afternoon All,

I am sure this has been asked before but I cannot find anything in doing a search.

I am looking into developing one of my OH Nurses into an OHA but wondered if anyone had a development plan in relation to this that I could use as a starting point instead of reinventing the wheel.

I have done some google searching but haven’t found anything that I could tweak to my needs.

Any help or signposting would be appreciated.

Have a good weekend.

Thank-you

Terri
