Dear colleagues,

We would like to draw your attention to two workshops at the Cs on Wednesday March 25th, among the rich set of workshops offered this year:

W 07: Probing Commonplaces in International Writing Research, sponsored by the CCCC International Researchers’ Consortium

If you are interested in the international and global future of writing studies, but don't always have the opportunity to travel to multiple countries, this workshop offers a way to meet many colleagues doing international-global higher education writing research, or teaching in international-global contexts. There is always lively conversation!

This workshop focuses on research about writing in multiple international contexts; participants from several countries read draft texts in advance and spend the day in deep discussion with international colleagues. A more detailed description of what to expect from the workshop is here:

MW.07 Engaging the Global: Constructing Commonplaces through Translingual/Transmodal Pedagogies in Writing Classrooms

This workshop explores innovative translingual frameworks and pedagogies in the context of globalizing writing classrooms, programs, and university structures. Led by a diverse group of international scholars, it offers participants practical activities, assignments, and ideas related to translingual pedagogy, curriculum development, global partnerships, and transnational writing program administration.

In either session, you may find your understandings of international work or translingual/transmodal work disrupted in exciting ways; you will certainly find enriching dialogue, and new opportunities for crossnational and transnational projects, partners, or pedagogies. Please join us for exciting immersive experiences with these new colleagues, to hear new work and new voices, and to engage in serious in-depth exchange on the nature of writing, writing research, and teaching writing in this century.

See you at the Cs!

Magnus Gustafsson, Ann-Marie Eriksson, Tiane Donahue, Violeta Molina, Steffen Guenzel, Raymond Oenbring, and Amy Zenger
