A new AHM PhD candidate will be appointed with funding from the University of Amsterdam on the 1st of September, 2020.

This will be a free research position within the AHM research field.  CHAT members may recall that the AHM’s research agenda is streamed into five Research Themes that cross and connect the fields of heritage, memory studies and material culture:

Museums & Memorials

Heritage & Conflict

Transnational Memory Narratives

Digitality & E-Memories

Materiality & Material Culture.

Each of these themes relates to several working research groups in the school, but has in principle a rather open character.

The vacancy has been published this week: https://www.uva.nl/en/content/vacancies/2020/02/20-053-phd-position-at-the-uva-faculty-of-humanities---ahm.html?z

The deadline is 31 March 2020.

Applicants must have a AHM academic staff member as supervisor. The advertisement asks applicants to make contact with their prospective supervisor and to get the support of that person before formally applying . In addition to this, candidates should have an excellent academic record, preferably with some publications in press or in print.
