Dear all, We are looking to recruit an exceptional early career health economic modeller with strong statistical skills. The post would also suit a statistical or mathematical modeller with an interest in developing skills in health economic modelling. The successful candidate will work on three projects: a network meta-analysis (NMA) of the impact of surgical interventions on preventing surgical site infections (SSI); a cost-effectiveness model of screening strategies for coeliac disease; and an exploratory health economic analysis of diagnosis tools in older adults with back pain. They will be line managed by Dr Howard Thom. The successful candidate will join the Health Economics Bristol (HEB) (https://www.bristol.ac.uk/population-health-sciences/centres/healthecon/) and Multi-Parameter Evidence Synthesis (MPES) teams (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/population-health-sciences/centres/cresyda/mpes/). They will also join the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Bristol Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) (https://www.bristolbrc.nihr.ac.uk/) contributing to the surgical innovations theme led by Prof. Jane Blazeby. This post is highly collaborative and the successful candidate will work with Professor Nicky Welton on the surgical site infection project, Dr Penny Whiting on coeliac disease modelling, and Dr Emma Clark on analysis of back pain diagnostic tools.
