The frustrating thing about this thread is that everyone seems to know what they should be doing, but organisations still do not implement systems to allow this.

It really shouldn't be that difficult - it just needs the will and a bit of investment,perhaps, with potential for huge efficiency returns.

Ten  years ago I was working with a simple system which used the CIFS protocol to expose the filing system in the Outlook sidebar so 'proper'filing was a simple drag and drop (it even applied sensible names to the .msg files saved). Probably saved me an hour a day - every day.
