"fforestwr" neu "penfforestwr" (gan ddibynnu ar ei statws) yn codi amlaf.

Dyma ychydig o enghreifftiau.

“penfforestwr” (head-forester),   ‘The Common Wood,’A History of Ancient Tenures of Land in North Wales ..., p. 89

"Kvlch koydwr", or "Cylch coedwr", Woodman's progress, perhaps the same as "Cylch penfforestwr", or progress of the chief forester, commuted in Bromfield into a "cymhorth", or aid.   ‘Two charters of Henry VII’, Y Cymmrodor the magazine of the Honourable Society of Cymmrodorion (1900-1951).Vol. 19, 1 January 1906, Page: 75

   Hanai teulu Eirianell, neu Arianell, o Iarddur o Arllechwedd, O.C. 1185, arglwydd y Llechwedd Uchaf yn Arfon, pen-coedwigwr yr Eryri, a maes-lywydd dan dywysog Aberffraw.  Yr Haul, Cyf. 12 rhif. 143 – 1 Tachwedd 1868, t. 16

Pwnc: Forester of Snowden

Mae hwn yn hen, hen deitl Seisnig, fel mae'r sillafu'n awgrymu.

"It is known that the post-Conquest Forest of Snowden was actually
established since a Royal Forester was appointed as were game wardens to
protect game. But details of how it came into being are unknown. Its
precise boundaries are uncertain though it was located mainly in
Caernarfonshire, perhaps extending into Merionethshire.
The forest persisted as a legal entity until the seventeenth century,
the forst laws being repealed in 1640." Coflein

Cymeraf mai Eryri oedd Snowden, yn hytrach na'r Wyddfa. Hefyd, gan nad
oedd "forest" o anghenraid yn golygu coedwig (gw. The New Forest),
cymeraf fod "Fforestwr" yn well na "Coedwigwr". O'm pen a'm pastwn fy
hun, byddwn i'n dweud "Fforestwr Eryri".

Ond tybed a fu fersiwn Cymraeg o'r teitl? Ydy unrhyw un yn gwybod beth ydyw?

Diolch,

Ann
