Dear list members of the "urban-drainage" list, Again, a year is (almost) over and Christmas is quickly approaching. A Happy Christmas to all of you who celebrate this special event or who take these days as a chance to rest and to reflect about life. Hope, 2020 will be a good year, both for each of you personally, as well as for our profession of urban drainage. There are many challenges ahead of us, but with a lot of joint knowledge and expertise, we can tackle at least some of them. Among the most important events for our community in 2020, there is obviously the Int. Conf. on Urban Drainage (ICUD), to be held from 6 to 11 September 2020 in Melbourne (see www.icud2020.org). But also the world's largest trade fair on water and wastewater (IFAT 2020, 04. - 08. May in Munich, www.ifat.de/en/) might be of interest to some of you. Please also make sure that your younger colleagues and students are aware of the activities in the world-wide urban drainage community. You might wish to refer them to the Joint Committee's webpage: www.jcud.org. Wishing you a good rest and a good start of the year 2020!
