MA/MS/PhD position: Geographies of Just Transitions

The Department of Geography and Environmental Sustainability at the University of Oklahoma seeks applicants for a fully-funded MA/MS/PhD study in the area of sustainability and equity starting in August 2020. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capacity for conducting original research, and a commitment to interdisciplinary approaches and methodologies, such as critical geography, political ecology and/or science and technology studies (STS). A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field is required. Working with Dr. Anthony Levenda, this fully funded position is aimed for students interested in studying the geographies of just transitions. A few examples of research topics include energy transitions, decarbonization, resilience, climate politics, infrastructure networks, and governance, and intersections with inequalities based on various forms of social difference such as race, class, and/or gender – including topics such as inequality, social movements, labor unions, racial capitalism, decolonization, feminist geographies.
