The Governors of Pusey House, Oxford, seek to appoint a qualified and experienced librarian to manage and develop their renowned theological library, special collections and archives.

Pusey House was established at the end of the 19th century in memory of E B Pusey (1800-1882), Professor of Hebrew, Canon of Christ Church, leader of the Catholic Movement within the Church of England. It is a 'house of sacred learning', a centre of theological study, prayer, and pastoral care. Today, we seek to hold together the life of the study and the life of worship in the context of a rich community life shaping disciples of Christ for the Church and for the world.

It supports the work of the University of Oxford by providing a chaplaincy together with a theology library of 75,000 printed volumes and over 1,100 boxes of archives. The Library and archive consist of special collections and a working academic library.

The successful candidate will be a talented, dedicated information professional who is able to work independently and strategically to develop and improve facilities and services

Conditions of employment: permanent, 37.5 hours a week at £32, 817. Part time working (at least three days a week) would be considered for the right candidate. Further details including how to apply are available from the Pusey House website at www.puseyhouse.org.uk/library.

The closing date for this position is 15th January 2020. Interviews are expected to take place in the week of 26th January 2020.
