The University of Derby is seeking to appoint an External Panel member for the Validation Event for the approval of the FdSc Sport, Fitness and Wellbeing and BA Hons Sport, Fitness and Wellbeing (top up) programmes in collaboration with Boston College.

The Validation Event will be held at Boston College (Peter Paine Campus).

In order to be eligible for the External Panel member role, the candidate must:
•	be an academic currently employed in a UK higher education institution;
•	have subject area expertise in the area of Sport, Fitness and Wellbeing; 
•	have appropriate experience of undergraduate programme teaching, learning and assessment;
•	have an understanding of issues relating to programmes that are delivered via collaborative provision arrangements.

The candidate must not:
•	have any direct connections with the University of Derby’s or any of The University of Derby’s existing or proposed collaborative partner institutions (such as being a former staff member, student or external examiner within the past five years).

The validation event is scheduled to take place on 13th February 2020.

The role involves:
•	Review of documentation in advance of the validation event (programme specification, module outlines, validation document);
•	Attendance at the one day validation event (times to be confirmed);
•	Consideration of programme team responses to conditions and recommendations that may be identified by the validation panel.
