Thankfully Langley’s books are available which is important & hopefully his work is being read. I am fairly sure there was a tribute to him after his death which I am sure was well attended.
Notation can work beautifully Luke if done well & in a low era of concentration is apt for our times where reading time is limited. Langley is a poet of acute observation & serious thought whom I hope will be remembered.
The prolific writings of Peter Riley are great achievements & few can match him as a reviewer. He is a real perennial whose Collected Poems are essential reading & a true gentleman of letters.
I have seen no tribute on here to Sean Bonney which I find disappointing & can anyone explain why nobody paid due tribute to him? May he rest in peace.
Cheers
Sean

Maybe, yeah.
For me, it's about Langley's metaphors -- in context they seem to make themselves "new", but they don't really need to.Cheers Sean.

Yes indeed Luke neglected & one can only speculate on why so?
In modern poetry image plus presentation are key to making a viable representation of oneself with Ed Dorn a perfect example. The hip cool dude chic radical gets the seal of approval more than a low key writer like R.F. Langley.
Langley was a devoted serious poet with no need for theatrics or histrionics but serious application to his craft was his hallmark. Dorn in contrast could be termed a drama king and a master at drawing attention to himself.
To generalise is always risky but sometimes one must look at any art form as a brand in an economic sense. Ed Dorn adopted a persona that yielded a fairly successful career. Those who proclaim it is all about art as well as inspiration ignore the fact the muse does not create food or shelter.
To me R.F. Langley is an important writer who like many others is not all that visible or a household name & Ed Dorn in contrast is reasonably well known. Literary trends hopefully will value Langley at some point in the future & give his work the recognition it fully deserves.
Best

Seems highly thought of, and he had a fabulous poem in a forward poetry anthology [think it was a diary], yet I hear next to nothing on him. Why?
