The Cohn Institute for the History and Philosophy of Science and Ideas at Tel Aviv University, Israel, invites applications for a tenure-track position. The appointment will be effective from the 2020-21 academic year; the rank offered will be based on the candidate's qualifications.

The Cohn Institute seeks excellent candidates who conduct independent research and are able to complement and strengthen the institute's current research and teaching activities. The institute deals with a large range of issues in the history, philosophy and sociology of the physical, biological and human sciences (including the humanities) and technology and their impact on society from the beginning of science to the contemporary digital world. The position requires teaching in Hebrew, which the successful candidate will be expected to do by the beginning of the third year of employment. Candidates must hold a Ph.D., or receive a Ph.D. before filling the position.

Salary and conditions will conform to Tel Aviv University regulations. Appointment procedures will be carried out according to the rules and regulations of Tel-Aviv University and are subject to the approval of the University authorities.

(b) an updated CV with a list of publications
(c) samples of publications or other written work
(d) a research statement
(e) reports on teaching experience (if available)
(f) a list of potential course topics for the Cohn Institute.
Three letters of recommendation of senior scholars should be sent directly to the Cohn Institute.

The position is open to all candidates. The appointment will be based on the candidate's qualifications and the needs of the Cohn Institute, and is conditional upon approval by Tel Aviv University. The Cohn Institute, the Faculty of Humanities or Tel Aviv University are not obligated to appoint any of the candidates who apply for the position.
