The Société d’Histoire et d’Epistémologie des Sciences de la Vie (Shesvie) is the francophone scientific society specialized in the history and epistemology of the life sciences. It publishes a biannual journal, le Bulletin d’Histoire et d’Epistémologie des Sciences de la Vie, which is now available online.

On 15th-18th April 2020, the yearly Shesvie conference will take place within the congress of the Société Française d’Histoire et Sciences et Techniques (SFHST). The event takes place in the historical buildings of the medical school of Montpellier, in celebration of the latter’s 800 years of existence.

The Shesvie welcomes submissions, in French and English, to its two organized symposia:

a) a thematic symposium on “Maladies, médecine, société en histoire des sciences”

b) a varia symposium – allowing for contributions across the history and epistemology of the life sciences.

You can find more information on the conference website. The deadline for submission is 6th January 2020.
