**Apologies for cross posting**
Hi everyone,
We still have places available for this workshop on RDA. Register soon to secure your place.
The
Cataloguing and Index Group (now Metadata and Discovery Group), in conjunction with the UK Committee on RDA (UKCoR)
and the Mercian Metadata Special Interest Group (MMG)
is delighted to present another RDA Orientation Workshop in Birmingham.
This event will mirror a similar event being held in
Edinburgh, coordinated by the Cataloguing and Indexing Group in Scotland.
The day will be divided into two main parts. A seminar with presentations from Alan Danskin from the British Library and Gordon Dunsire from
the RDA Steering Committee will prepare you for a practical session later in the day.
The practical portion of the day will consist of using
RIMMF (RDA in Many Metadata Formats) to explore different scenarios using elements and concepts from the RDA beta toolkit. This will
allow delegates to put RDA into practice and explore the ideas and implications of changes to the RDA toolkit (3R and LRM).
Delegates will need to bring their own laptop to the event with RIMMF4 installed. Additional information will be provided to delegates on registration to the event and RDA
experts will be on site on the day to support delegates in the practical sessions.
Places will be limited to 40 so book early! Please register for the event
here:

The event will be held at Birmingham City University, Curzon Building:

Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please provide dietary requirements
on registration.
Best wishes,
Will.
