The Cataloguing & Indexing Group in Scotland, in conjunction with the UK Committee on RDA (UKCoR), is delighted to present the first of two RDA Orientation Workshops, which will take place in the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation on the 21st of November.

This all day event will follow a part seminar, part practical workshop format. Presentations from Alan Danskin from the British Library and Gordon Dunsire from the RDA Steering Committee will prepare delegates for the practical hands-on sessions.

The practical element will involve delegates using the RIMMF tool to explore use of elements and concepts from the RDA beta Toolkit. The aim of the day is to put the RDA theory into practice in a non-MARC environment. It will also introduce delegates to the implications of the toolkit restructure and redesign project (3R) and the Library Reference Model (LRM).

Due to the practical nature of this workshop, delegates are asked to bring their own laptops, or link up with other delegates. Further information for delegates will be provided following registration, include RIMMF 4 installation instructions. In addition to Alan and Gordon, Jenny Wright (BDS) and Thurstan Young (British Library), will be on hand to help facilitate and support delegates in the practical sessions.

Places are limited and early booking is recommended - please register here<https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/rda-orientation-workshop-tickets-75023733005>

The second workshop, organised by the Cataloguing and Indexing Group and UKCor, will take place in Birmingham City University on the 11th December - look out for more details, coming soon!

We look forward to seeing you in Edinburgh in November!
