Hi Matthieu,

It's definitely licit to use the tail approximation! As for an equivalence, I estimate that as somewhere between 10-100x. However, it may depend on the number of tests (since tail works best for the distribution of the maxima).

All the best,

Anderson

Dear PALM's experts,

Would there be an equivalence in the number of permutations to run with
tail acceleration in order to approximately obtain results with
classical -n 5000 permutations? If this is the case, would it be licit
to publish results with tail approximation?

Best,

Matthieu
