Hello Everyone,

I Just joined the group and thought I'd introduce myself and try get a better feel about the group as a whole.

I'm a Geology graduate from Plymouth university, but my main interests now are in exploring modern incarnations of Natural Philosophy. My 'intellectual journey' so to say began at university, and was a combination of delight at the depths of science whilst being appalled at the lack of philosophical (and to a degree artistic) analysis into the conclusions found.

I found this group (and Maxwell's work) whilst researching for a piece I am doing about finding a practical philosophical basis for environmentalism based in current scientific knowledge, and to look at the implications of this. Whilst I have achieved a broad overview, only the earlier parts about how to view life in the lens of its main phenological grounding, Entropy, have begun to be fleshed out; this part draws inspiration (though not exactly comparable conclusions) from the work of natural philosopher Dr. Stanley Salthe.

As I'm new, is there anything in particular you would suggest I read to get a good feel of the group and the ideas? or any other tips to get myself more immersed in the community?

I look forward to hearing your responses and getting involved with the friends of Wisdom!

Kindest Regards,

Ben Shread-Hewitt
