Arden University is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for our Anglia Ruskin University Psychology Programmes as follows:

 

The fee for this appointment is £350 per quarter subject to performance of the duties outlined below, and following receipt of interim and annual reports. 

 

Tenure will be for a period of four years.

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced External Examiners and all appointments are subject to the candidate meeting Anglia Ruskin University’s criteria. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Approve all assessments compiled by the Module Leader, including coursework and exam papers.
• Review samples of assessed work.
• Attend meetings of the Examining Board(s)
• Approve recommendations of the Examining Board(s) for submission to the Academic Board. In the case of an External Examiner being unable to endorse such a report then they reserve the right to make independent representation to the Vice-Chancellor of Arden University.
• Contribute to enhancement and development of the programme through discussion with and feedback to the programme team.
• Report on the standard of the award, the standard of student performance and the soundness and fairness of processes for the assessment and determination of awards through initial comments to be considered at meetings of Examining Boards.
• Provide a full and comprehensive report to the Head of Academic Affairs at Arden University submitted within two weeks of the final meeting of the Examining Board each year. This should incorporate the initial comments made at Examining Board meetings.
• Perform such other special duties as may be agreed.
