Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in Health Data Science, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine

We have an exciting opportunity for a data scientist to contribute to the School’s expanding health data science portfolio of research and teaching and to be the Programme Director for the School’s new MSc in Health Data Science. This post is a fantastic opportunity for a talented researcher with expertise in data science and a commitment to training the next generation of health data scientists. The successful candidate will lead the development and launch of the MSc programme in Health Data Science. They will also take a leading role in health data science research at the School and will have the opportunity to work with a thriving interdisciplinary team to undertake world leading health research.

Applicants will need a PhD in a related discipline (for example data science, data mining, machine learning, statistics, artificial intelligence, data engineering, quantitative epidemiology, bioinformatics or computational biology) and applicants applying at Associate Professor level will also require a teaching qualification. The successful candidate will have experience in conducting research gained either in academia or industry and experience of postgraduate teaching and teaching management. They will also have excellent written and oral communication skills. Previous research experience in health would be an advantage but not essential.
