The Institutional Research (IR) team at Southampton is looking for a highly numerate, motivated, curious, problem-solving individual to join us as maternity cover. The team is situated within the Strategy, Planning and IR division, and delivers insight and analysis to support key decision making processes, strategic planning and performance monitoring. This role is in a unique position to impact on decisions taken by the University through providing answers to business questions.

The IR team covers analysis and insight about the pre-application, application, entrant and enrolled stages in the student life cycle, wider market trends and policy developments and a range of external performance indicators. Key strategic areas include Recruitment, Education, Widening Participation and International. Each team member has a range of responsibilities across the areas covered by the IR team, but leads in a specific area, developing in-depth knowledge and relationships with key stakeholders.

They will work collaboratively with other analysts in the IR team, as well as with the Head of Admissions, Admissions team and other senior stakeholders.

This post is fixed term until May 2021 to cover maternity leave.

The post is expected to be full time, but 0.8 FTE may be considered.
