Excellent idea! But do we have Honorary Life Members, i.e., anyone above 90? Germaine (four years to go!
;-))
[log in to unmask]">Kudos to Prof. Zurcher, but is it possible that Harry Berger is not an Honorary Lifetime Member of the Spenser Society?

I’ll pay for Harry.
I know, I beat the rest of you to it. Tough luck.

This is way too complicated for a dimwitted nonagenarian.. I don’t have Paypal and the other alternative doesn’t work. So what do I do now?

Dear Spenser Supporter:
As our recent email explained, this month we are resuming the practice of dues-based membership, as outlined in the society’s bylaws (https://www.english.cam.ac.uk/spenseronline/iss/bylaws-of-the-international-spenser-society/), for a membership year that will run from October to October going forward. The content of the Spenser Review will still be available to all here: https://www.english.cam.ac.uk/spenseronline/review/; you may create a free account in order to comment on articles in the Review; however, the Society encourages those who can to become dues-paying members.
How to become a member:
2. At the bottom of the page, you will see options for regular membership ($28, or you may round up to $30 as an additional donation) or the discounted rate for students, emeriti/ae faculty, and independent scholars ($18, with the option of rounding up to $20). You also have the option of contributing specifically to the Anne Lake Prescott Graduate Student Paper Prize (you will need to return to the “Join ISS” page from the PayPal payment page in order to add this donation to your cart):

Add your selections to the cart, and then click on “View Cart” to be directed to the payment page.<PayPal Payment Site with Additional 2 Donation.JPG>
If you have a PayPal account, click on “PayPal Check out.” If you do not have or wish to use a PayPal account, click on “Check Out” to make a regular credit card payment. Whether you pay with a PayPal account or as a “guest,” you will receive a receipt from PayPal. (If you prefer not to participate in e-commerce, you may mail a check to our treasurer, Sarah Van der Laan, Department of Comparative Literature, 1020 E. Kirkwood Ave., Ballantine Hall 914, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN 47405.)
You will receive an email receipt from PayPal with the details of your membership dues and, if applicable, donation. Although we will email receipts for tax purposes to all members in January 2020, please keep this receipt for your tax records. The International Spenser Society is a 501(c)(3) organization, and dues and donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
Thank you in advance for becoming a member of the International Spenser Society and supporting the work the society does to keep Edmund Spenser’s work alive.
