Hi Catherine

Not done this myself, but might it be a good idea to include Mesh terms whenever relevant?

2 Advantages:

1: The structure is already around, easily available, widely known about.
2: It would be straightforward to create links out from a record to a search for the mesh terms to look for similar information

Also as an extra, build in a facility to be able to search highlighted text in a limited range of websites.

Don't forget to remind people about Advanced find in Adobe acrobat reader for searching in multiple closed pDFs either .

Subject: creating a database of Trust archives

Dear all,

We're looking at creating a database of our Trust's archives, which at present are scattered all over the place.

If anyone has undertaken to create a database, please could I chat to you about what fields you've used to record the data, what tagging you used for retrieval etc? One of our IT staff is going to create a custom database for us.

Many thanks,
Catherine
