UKeiG, the UK e-information Group, is delighted to announce the first in a series of one-hour UKeiG webinars free to all UKeiG and CILIP members. At 2.30 pm on Wednesday 4th December 2019, UKeiG Chair David Ball will present on the theme of "Open Access Monographs." The webinar, hosted in collaboration with CILIP as part of its popular Webinar Wednesdays initiative, is also open to non-members for £25 + VAT. Open Access in journals is well established and understood; however OA monographs is in the relatively early stages of development. This UKeiG webinar will cover the following topics: *A brief history and context, including policies; *Developing infrastructure; *Business models; *Publishers; *Future developments. The key learning outcomes will be a clearer understanding of: *The place of OA monographs in Open Science *Policies *The publishing landscape *Business models. Having taken early retirement as University Librarian at Bournemouth in 2012, David Ball works as an independent consultant, researcher and interim manager, specialising in aspects of higher education, particularly scholarly communication and Open Access/ Open Science, e-books and e-journals, procurement, library and related systems, virtual learning environments, staff development.
