Wonderful things is excellent, I agree, and you can still find Gail Durbin (Author), et al. (1990), Learning from Objects: A Teacher’s Guide, English Heritage online...

Hi Josephine

Julian Vayne’s ‘Wonderful Things’ is an excellent guide, and GEM produced some advice notes a few years ago, which gives links to other guidance. Gail Durbin and Sue Wilkinson’s seminal guide (1990) is not available online, as far as I can see.

Lovely subject!

Subject: Using artefacts in classrooms

Hello GEM hive

I’m looking for….. guidance & advice for teachers using our artefacts in their school.

I am already aware of the fantastic Book of Delights from Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.

Any pointers very welcome.

Kind regards
